If you have ever done Beachbody’s Combat, this may look familiar to you. It is a similar workout, but it is completely revamped. Core De Force is amped up, with high speed moves, intense 3 minute interval training, and two awesome trainers to keep you pushing yourself through the entire workout. If you liked Les Milles Pump as much as I did, you’ll know that Beachbody and Les Milles parted ways a little bit ago. But Joel and Jericho stuck around, and BOY am I glad they did. These two trainers are no nonsense and will help get you the results you have always dreamed of. 

What are the workouts like?

The program itself is 30 days. The workouts are 30-45 minutes long and are set up like HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training) with 3 minute rounds where you are expected to go as hard as you can. Nervous about getting the moves down? Don’t be. Joel and Jericho teach you the moves step by step before the 3 minutes of intense rounds start. In these rounds they have what Joel and Jericho refer to as “Spike Moves” which are designed to get your heart rate up for maximum fat loss.

What are the moves like?

The moves are explosive and high intensity, but that doesn’t mean high impact. Both Joel and Jericho say they try to avoid high intensity workouts, as they can be hard on your joints. There are some high impact moves, but of course there is a MODIFIER there that you can watch and follow if you want to avoid that completely. The best part about Core De Force’s modifier? She is a real Beachbody customer, working towards real goals, just like you and me. If Joel and Jericho’s chiseled bodies intimidate you, look for the modifier to remind you that just because you don’t have a six pack (yet), you can still do this workout and see MASSIVE results. 

Do I need special equipment?

Nope! No equipment necessary. All you need is a TV/Computer to play your disks and enough space around you that you won’t be kicking over lamps and punching paintings off your walls! The workouts are designed to utilize your body weight which means no dumbbells necessary!

Am I fit enough to try this workout?

I don’t know you, but what I DO know is YOU ARE FIT ENOUGH FOR THIS WORKOUT. Core De Force is for everyone and anyone looking to take their fitness to the next level. Like I said, there is a modifier. So, if you find the moves to be too challenging, take it down a notch and focus on increasing your fitness capabilities. If you are already in amazing shape, this program is going to push you to a whole new level of fitness. 
Lean Muscle 
If you want lean muscle, this program is for you. You will lose weight and put on lean muscle, leaving you with a fit and healthy body. If you want to put on size and increase the amount of muscle you have, you should try Body Beast or Hammer and Chisel.

Creamy Sun-dried Tomato Chicken Recipe

This chicken recipe is for a creamy, Clean Eating chicken with sun-dried tomatoes and the chicken is tender and falls off the bones. This recipe is Paleo, gluten free, dairy-free and is good for a Clean Eating diet. It only takes 15 minutes to get started and then most of the cooking is done by your oven while you clean your kitchen, work, play or relax!
This is one of my personal favorite chicken recipes. The sun-dried tomatoes add a lot of flavor and the chicken turns out so juicy and tender. It is a versatile dish that can be made for gathering or just for one or a couple of people. It’s actually pretty impressive for company


I haven't always been a fan of sun dried tomatoes but figured I give this a try because the tomatoes would cook for a while in the crockpot.  To my surprise, I loved it!

We served it over some roasted acorn squash and the boys had it over mashed potatoes. It was AMAZING!

Recipe type: Clean Eating
Serves: 6
Ingredients
Instructions
  1. Mix together the potato or tapioca starch, salt, and pepper in a medium sized bowl. Toss the chicken thighs in the mixture until fully coated.
  2. Heat 2 T. of the Olive Oil in a large oven-proof frying pan or ceramic coated dutch oven. Add the chicken, four pieces at a time, and brown on each side. When the chicken is all browned, remove it and set it aside.
  3. Add the remaining 1 T. of oil to the pan and heat to medium/high. Add the sliced onion and saute for 2 minutes. Add the sun-dried tomatoes, garlic, Italian Seasoning, and red pepper and saute for another 30 seconds.
  4. Add the coconut milk and chicken broth and bring to a boil.
  5. Add the chicken back into the sauce, scooping the onions and tomatoes over the top of the chicken. Try to fit the chicken in a single layer, if possible.
  6. Add the chicken and all the liquid to a crock pot and cool on low for 5 hours.
  7. Remove from the crock pot and top with shredded basil just before serving.

Orange Ground Chicken


Tonights dinner was definitely a keeper!
We added shredded carrots and broccoli into the chicken and paired it with some quinoa and kale! The kids loved it and we will be adding this one to our weekly rotation for sure! 

Heres the recipe:

INGREDIENTS
  • 1 cup brown rice + 2 cups water (cook according to your preference)
  • 1 Tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 pound ground chicken or turkey
  • 2 Tablespoons freshly grated or minced ginger
  • 4 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 Tablespoon asian spice sauce or red pepper flakes (try chili-garlic sauce, sriracha, or just red pepper flakes!)
  • ½ cup orange juice (I juiced 8 clementines/mikans/tangerines)
  • 3 Tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 small heads fresh broccoli - about 6-7 cups florets & some stems
  • sesame seeds for garnish
INSTRUCTIONS
  1. Cook brown rice according to your preference, I use a Unlce Bens Brown rice and its super yummy.
  2. In a large nonstick pan, warm sesame oil over low-medium heat. Add chicken and brown on all sides. (Doesn't have to be fully cooked yet.)
  3. Add the ginger, garlic, spice sauce, orange juice, and soy sauce. Stir well and bring to a simmer. Simmer on low heat for 3-5 minutes, or until sauce has reduced and thickened. Stir well and remove from heat.
  4. Meanwhile, fill a pot with 1 inch of water. Add steamer basket and add chopped broccoli florets & stems. Cover and steam for 4 minutes.
  5. Make the bowls by either dividing the brown rice among four bowls and topping with chicken and broccoli, or by mixing it all together in the nonstick pan. Top with sesame seeds and enjoy!

Greek Veggie Salad


Over the weekend I brought this delicious salad over a friends house to watch the football game! It was a hit! 
You can have it as a side or throw it on top of chicken. Best part is its healthy and clean!

Greek Veggie Salad
Recipe:
8 Roma tomatoes
1 cucumber peeled and seeded
1 can of black olives
1 red onion
1 can of garbanzo beans
1 red pepper
2 tsp of oregano
1/4 cup of feta
Sea salt
1/4 cup olive oil 1/4 vinegar

Do you LOVE your job?

Ahhhhh Its a happy Friday over here! This morning I was able to meet up with one of my coaches and chat over coffee and brainstorming for some new things for our business!

A lot of people wonder what we do as coaches and to be honest it does take work but its also very SIMPLE! We help people with their health and fitness whether its someone who's just getting started and wants to lose 100 pounds or someone who's already fit and wants to change up their routine or kick things up a notch. We provide them with fitness programs and meal plans in a SIMPLE way to help them be successful!

We have FUN!
One of my favorite things about our team are the relationships we have developed over time. I personally have made lots of new friendships and reconnected with so many old friends and strengthened relationships. Before Beachbody I would occasionally go on girls trips but I now feel like every few months we have a trip! 

Our most recent one was to Nashville for our annual Coach Summit and was so much fun!

We learned from other top coaches in the business, we celebrated the success of our team being a PREMIERE team and worked out with celebrity trainers!

These ladies all come from different backgrounds...some are full-time working moms, attorneys, teachers, stay at home moms. We are all different but the one thing we have in common is the desire for MORE out of life! 

But is it a scam?
Now I just want to throw out there that before I started this coaching thing I thought it was a TOTAL scam! I laughed about it with my husband and joked about a shake being able to change someones life.  At the time I was working out 5 times a week and super frustrated because I wasn't really seeing the results I hoped for. I was eating clean too---or so I thought. So, after 6 months of watching and stalking my coach on Facebook, I finally decided to go for it. At first, all I really wanted to do was lose those last 15 pounds after having my child, so I signed up for the discount--because we all love to save money right? 


 Then after my first round of the 21 Day fix and drinking shakeology I lost 11 pounds and could not believe the comparison of my before and after picture. I was a TOTAL believer! People started asking me what I was doing and I wanted to share this amazing program with EVERYONE---so here I am!! Haha!

How do you find the time to workout as a busy mom?

AM Workouts
Try to complete your workouts first thing in the morning. Not only will morning workouts jumpstart your metabolism to help you get through the day, it may be the only quiet time you have. For most parents, there is simply too much to get done after work. I know that when I get my workouts done first thing in the morning it sets the tone for a great day!

Lunch Workouts
If early morning workouts are not your thing, try to get a workout in during your lunch break. If you work close to a gym try going during your lunch. Or, start a walking group that walks for 15 to 30 minutes each day during lunch. Not only will this help you stay accountable but it helps to break up the monotony of the typical work day.

Write It Down
Schedule it! Integrate your workout into your daily routine and let the family know that this appointment is set and it is a priority. I like to think of it as a special appointment that I can't miss! I follow a calendar when Im working out print it out and put it right where I can see it every day on my refrigerator! I love that it takes the guess work out of what to do! I used to walk around the gym with no clue! Now, I get in and out and Im done in 30 minutes!

But I just don't have the time!
Keep track of how you’re spending your time and figure out which activities you could eliminate time from in order to use that wasted time and put it towards a workout. I know for me I had to cut things out such as watching tv and scrolling social media! When theres a will, theres a way right?

Use What You Have
While not making it to the gym or a spin class is a convenient excuse, the truth is, you don’t need special fitness equipment or a gym membership to work out. A simple set of weights, a chair, or your own body weight can be used to workout.

Like anything else it is a process. Don’t go at it alone. Find a partner or support group to help you stay on track and hold you accountable. Don't Buy Shakeology till You Read This!

I can remember it like it was yesterday...I laughed with my husband and said "Can you believe someone would really pay 5.00 for a shake? What is it like a magic shake or something? It can't possibly be better than what Im already drinking". At the time I was going to whole foods and buying all kinds of stuff to add to my protein shake. Chia seeds, maca powder, fresh veggies and fruits. Half of the stuff would go bad and I would spend a fortune on it....After a while of me working my butt of at the gym and not seeing any results (6 whole months had past), I thought---what the heck---let me give this thing a try! I was tired of working so hard and not seeing any results.
